A (simple) question and a (simple) challenge

I have a simple question to end this week:

“What are some exciting projects you are currently working on?”

Now, for the challenge:

Just for the sake of fun, let’s say your answer should have been
“Too many to list.”

If that is really the answer, you win.

If not, what can you do in the next 30 days so that if the same question is asked after 30 days, the answer will be “Too many to list.”?

Bonus challenge
Now, if you want to have a bigger challenge, try this:

What can you do in the next 30 days so that your team members live up to the challenge?

In other words, this is what is expected:
After 30 days if someone asks each of your team members “What are some exciting projects you are currently working on?” each one of them will answer “Too many to list.”

Just a few days back in a session with my mentor, he mentioned a theme “Demonstrate Infinite Capacity”. I think we all take up more responsibilities as it comes across our way, but a slight twist, to show the team, that you have enough bandwidth to take on more, on this challenging world, is a good musing to remember.

For people who may not be doing a long list of exciting projects, is it fair enough to say like “I am on 2 really exciting projects which are worthy enough to add to the accomplishments”? I don’t have too many, but only 2 that are really great?

Of course Vinayak. That would be just great.
However, what I also wanted to bring out was the other “exciting” projects that we are working on but don’t see them as exciting.
If we add them all up, the list will be BIG.

Is this perhaps too simplistic? What about the issues with diffused focus, prioritization etc when juggling too many things to even list? Is “too many to list” really the right answer here? Just a thought.

Thanks Suresh.
The point I was trying to make was to highlight that we all have many exciting projects in our life – right now, today!
However, the TV and movies have made us feel that if we truly have to be excited, we have to do something dramatic. It is a conditioning that media is creating and nothing else.
Even when you are focused on a single goal, single company or a single accomplishment there are multiple exciting things going on. It is never one.
My $.02 of course.
