Globat Automatic Upgrade Scam – Company never learns

By Rajesh Setty on Tue 01 Jul 2008, 9:14 PM - 4 Comments

I have written about Globat Automatic Upgrade scam before. I have been busy to switch to another hosting company but I don’t think the company will ever learn how to “serve” the customers. I got another promotion that I had to opt out.

Here is the page where they ask me “why I am opting out” :)

All the best for others who are with Globat!

Ha ha ha – this is really funny.
They actually realize that people find “opt out”’s annoying, but choose to retain that policy, if one can call it that.
BTW, this also is in no marginal way a “promotion” – for that word implies choice.

It is very funny, more so because it is happenning for real!

I was also a victim of this scam. They put me on an auto-upgrade plan that added me onto every new service they created. While it is inexcusable, I should also note that they were very quick to take off the “upgrades” and refund my money with one phone call.

Do NOT use this web service. There are numerous UNATHORISD credit card charges that they charge you. As bad, they require you to OPT-OUT of their promotions. i.e. if you dont pick up your email, they will charge you. SERVICE is non-existant. Don’t expect to talk to anyone when you dial their number. There web packages are slow too!

It took me WEEKS of work and tenacious fighting to get my money back on this one! Globat.com is my worst and most expensive online experience yet- but then- maybe I’m lucky! In under a year, my “$9.99″ annual web hosting account cost me a bit over $500.00 in upgrades and ?RENEWAL? fees… some of that after weeks! UGH Awful!
