Why You Can’t Ignore Blogs – Take Two
By Rajesh Setty on Wed 20 Aug 2008, 4:09 PM - 2 Comments
Last year I wrote about “Why You Can’t Ignore Blogs“. Now that I am using pictures more (thanks to my friend Dan Roam) I have a simpler version this time. This is Take Two. Here is one reason.
We need the help of experts to interpret the world for us. Earlier, those interpretations and world views were available via books. This introduced a serious time lag from “thought to publish.” With blogs the their “thought to publish” cycle is reduced to minutes rather than months or years.
Yes, this is one reason but it’s already good enough I guess.
Happy Wednesday!
Note: While you can’t ignore blogs, who you chose to read is equally important. Check your RSS subscriptions. Should you include someone else? Should you drop someone?

Brilliant Post Rajesh ! I have been trying to convince our mgmt to launch a blog describing what we do, how we do and what we are capable of doing since few weeks but breaking out of the traditional Marketing Ways (Print Ads, Brochures, TV Advertising) remains quite a challenge for me till date. I think I might wish to add ur “Time Lag” & “Reduced Feedback Time” as principle benefits in my next proposal too – lets c if I get a buyin then
Anyways, I’ve been following your blog for ~2 months now & wanted to thank you since. The analogies you derive from everyday experiences (Parking Lot,McDonalds Iced Coffee, Atlanta Airport etc) are quite impressive. Oh and yes ur latest composition of “Mini Saga” on ChangeThis was quite a fuel for our evday Coffee Vending M/c Conversations for almost 2 wks !
Keep such thought provoking transformational posts coming in – they sure strike a chord spc. if you are in IT Profession…Gd Luck
Cheers,
Chinmay
