We notice what we notice and sometimes what we notice is not enough.
Enjoy the story:
Notice
The parking sign was clear – “No Parking from 6pm to 6am.” The time was still 5.30pm. Tim rushed inside the store. He came back in less than twenty minutes only to find a parking ticket clinging to the windshield. He just noticed that until 6pm it was “paid” parking.

Enjoy the story:
Perfection

Sometimes we take things literally.
Enjoy the story:
Loan
Rick stopped someone in the lobby and said – “I am from the office next door. Can you please lend me $1000?” The person flatly refused stating that he doesn’t know Rick well. With a confused look, Rick said – “That’s odd. My coworkers won’t lend me saying they know me too well.”

Making good decisions is very important. But it’s also important to know how long you will take to make those “right” decisions.
Enjoy the story:
Decision
Luke’s journey came to a screeching halt at a crossroad. Luke wanted to make the “right” choice. Both the roads seems to have a share of positives and negatives. Luke kept thinking for a long time. It was getting dark and a drunk truck driver accidentally ran over and killed him.

Sometimes when you plan a surprise, you have to be ready for than what you planned for…
Enjoy the story:
Surprise

When you are in the middle of a mess, it’s easy to miss a LOT of important things.
Enjoy the story:
Suicide
Mired in debt and fired recently, Tony decided to end his life. His suicide note was simply a list thanks and blessings. The note ran six pages long. That night, Tony read the note one last time and smiled. He realized it was silly for him to end his life.

Hard work alone may not be enough to get the recognition you deserve.
Enjoy the story:
Recognition
James worked hard but that was not enough. Throughout the four years, James got no credit or someone else got credit for his work. James was frustrated. One day, his long-time friend told him – “James, either you make it hard to give you credit or you make work seem easy.”
Update: Based on first comment and two emails I received, it is clear that some people are reading too much between the lines. So some clarifications below:
* In order to be recognized, you don’t need to boast your accomplishments, you don’t need to hide them either.
* You need to be humble but you that does not mean “devalue” your contributions
* You don’t have to promote yourself but that does not mean you should shy away from shocasing a masterpiece that you might have created.

You can choose whatever you want to do as long as you are wiling to face the consequences
Enjoy the story:
Charlie in the Chocolate Factory
Charlie was tired and ready to go home. His Boss called and asked him to fill two large orders. Unhappy and angry, Charlie stuffed some paper in two large boxes and gift-wrapped them. Just then, his Boss came by and said – “Charlie, these are my gifts for your family. Enjoy!”
